As always, our mission is to give your children the best possible education that we can. All of our teacher trainings and meetings will continue to focus on learning and incorporating research-base, best practices into every state standard and classroom lesson. We will work harder to differentiate our instruction by providing ample opportunity for enrichment and ample opportunity to provide reteaching when necessary to ensure success for every student in every lesson.
Please remember that you are always welcome: this is your school! We are here to serve you and your children to the best of our abilities. It is extremely important to have a strong home/school connection, so please feel free to contact your teacher or myself at any time.
School safety is another important component of a successful school environment. Please let us know if you have safety concerns or questions. We cannot improve or correct situations if we do not know they exist. Children will learn better in a safe and nurturing educational environment. Please come join us. Research tells us that having more adults in the building improves all children's behaviors.
How can you help your children?
Support us
when we contact you concerning your child.
Let your
children know that we are working together for them.
Read with
them at least "the magic 20 minutes" every night.
Encourage
them to get their homework done.
Watch their
homework go into their backpack every night.
Make sure
they come to school every day.
Send them to
bed early (by 8:30 or 9:00) every night.
Provide them
with a good breakfast every morning.
We want Silver Lake Elementary to be the very best school for your children.
Together we can make it happen!
Thank you!
Loretta
