Students are discouraged from bringing valuable items to school.  The school is not responsible for lost, stolen, or broken items.  Things such as radios, cameras, headsets, Gameboys and toys are prohibited.

Students are responsible for any equipment, instruments, books, or other items that they have on campus, whether owned by the student or that which has been entrusted to the student by the school district.

Lost And Found

There is a Lost And Found container in the lunch room.  Any items, such as clothing, toys, or lunch boxes that are found will be put into this container.  Parents and students are encouraged to look there for missing items.  The items are held for at least 4 weeks before being donated to charity.

All students in grades 1 - 6 will eat lunch at school.  Students may bring their own lunch or purchase a hot lunch.  The price for hot lunch is $2.00 per day.  Milk can be purchased for $.50.  Parents are encouraged to pre-pay for student hot lunches.  This can be done by multiplying the number of lunches you would like to purchase by $2.00 then either sending in a check made out to "WCSD Nutrition Services"  or cash for that amount.

Students eating cold lunch are encouraged to bring their lunch in a disposable bag or to have their name written on a reusable sack or box.  The school is not responsible for lost lunch boxes or bags.

Volunteers are strongly encouraged at Silver Lake Elementary School.  Those interested in volunteering, whether a parent or community member, are asked to fill out a Volunteer Registration form available in the office.  Volunteer orientation classes are held at the beginning of each school year.  Volunteers are asked not to use any of the equipment that they have not been trained on and not to be in the faculty lounge during the lunch hour.  Further information is available upon request.
